Hi, I come from Australia and currently living in Denmark for 4 months, picking up my danish and seeing family, my parents are danish, I was wondering if its best to look in forests or in open grass areas for mushrooms, or if the season is 100% in yet, any help would be great, thanks

It's best to look at grassfields, where cows etc takes their toll - that's pretty essential actullay.. Weill, the season is open now, but I don't think you will find massive amounts, but perhaps! Ehere I live, it's been raining for a few days, so I'm hoping for some ok sun - and then I'll go looking too=)

Forrestmushrooms do exist, but forget about them! =)

Remember that the psilocybe semilanceata (the Danish mushroom) is very small, so it helps a lot to position yourself more or less at the same level as the shrooms (=on all four, with your face basically in the grass field)

thanks for the info guys, going to enjoy looking through cow shit! but we all know its it, could you tell me any spots to go to?? or in Denmark is it common to find them in most places when there is grass and cows?? I'm willing to travel anywhere in Sjælland. Thanks again, and keep me updated how your hunting is going.

You could always take a look at the collaborative "mushroom map" that a board member put up a few days ago. You'll find it here.
I can't vouch for its reliability, though...

EDIT: And you can always team up with some fellow mushroom gatherers if you like. It seems there are plenty of people on Sjælland seeking other shroom hunters - try looking in this thread.
