Mexican Sativa Mexico has a long and important cannabis tradition. The country that coined the term ‘marijuana’ is home to some wonderful varieties of cannabis which are rarely seen outside her borders.
The main ancestor and parent of the Mexican Sativa seed-strain is a prized cultivar from the southern province of Oaxaca. To adapt this exotic Sativa for flowering in the northern summer, it was infused with genes from Durban - the famously hardy African Sativa - as well as from a fast-flowering Pakistani hash plant. The best seed offspring were then back-crossed to the Oaxacan line to maintain the distinctive qualities of the original strain. Mexican Sativa fuses the subtle flavours of three continents within her long, delicate buds. Notes of sandalwood and aniseed are wrapped up in the sharp, fresh, resin-tinged scent of the Oaxacan original.
Mexican Sativa seeds are ideal for any garden grower who wants an easily cultivated strain, aesthetically beautiful plants and a clear, uplifting Sativa high. If you think that lower priced seeds must always be of low quality, these Ladies of the Sierra Madre will surprise you!
Skunk#1 (men det skal være et varmt år før den bliver god med mange solskinstimer) The strain that changed the face of cannabis culture across the world continues to amaze weed-lovers more than a quarter-century after her release! The original Skunk hybrids fused traditional cultivars from Central and South America, Afghanistan and Thailand. Through generations of intensive selection and back-crossing, the very best examples of Skunk were stabilised into the first true-breeding Indica-Sativa hybrid - the classic Indica-dominant Skunk #1.
The potency of this branch of the cannabis family tree is so notorious that ‘skunk’ is often used as a name for any powerful ganja. Breeders regard Skunk #1 as the benchmark of uniform, reliable performance and her rock-solid genotype has influenced a hundred modern hybrids. Skunk#1’s energetic performance and bountiful yields demonstrate the true meaning of hybrid vigour. Growth and flowering are mostly-Indica in appearance, with Skunk #1 gaining a little more height than a pure Indica when blooming. The extra-dark green of this strain’s leaves comes from her Afghanica ancestors and contrasts sharply with her lime-green growing tips.
Flowering is very fast and Skunk #1 produces robust stems and branches to support her superior yields. Short internode gaps explode into dense, rounded flower clusters which merge into huge, heavy terminal buds by the end of the blooming phase. Fan leaves can show many shades of colour at the end of flowering, as plants focus their energy on bud formation and resin production
Sativa heritage is most apparent in Skunk #1’s beautiful calyxes, long, profuse pistils and her habit of expanding bud-growth in all directions as harvest time approaches. Sativa also has a wonderful influence on Skunk #1’s potency and effect - a stunning combination of stone and high.
Early Girl (blomstrer ekstremt quick) This reliable, resilient seed-strain is the earliest outdoor Indica in the Sensi collection, aside from our auto-flowering strains. Early Girl has been a trusted name since the Eighties, known for dependably producing fabulous harvests of chunky, sparkling Indica tops in the short northern summers. Early Girl will flourish when given the basic essentials of cultivation, making her the ideal choice for balconies, roof-terraces or conservatories.
Virtually any household will have enough room for a few of these beautiful, compact Girls - a metre or two of outdoor floor-space which receives sunlight in the day while staying dark at night is enough for this strain to demonstrate just how easy outdoor growing can be. With access to direct sunlight, regular watering and occasional feeding, Early Girl will do the rest herself, producing columns of fat, sticky, hash-flavoured buds with a smooth, long-lasting buzz.
Afghani and north Indian strains give Early Girl her rugged mostly-Indica features and a delicate Sativa influence is inherited from a distant, high-altitude Mexican ancestor. Early Girl makes her largest buds on a single main stem. Most upper branches stay close, allowing their flower clusters to merge into the central cola. When her lower branches are left unpruned, they may reach almost as high as the main stem by the end of the outdoor season, so that their large, dense tops seem to ‘orbit’ the terminal bud.
Afghan#1 (blomstrer rigtig quick gør den) The plants from the fast, heavy, compact side of the cannabis family tree are named after India, and it’s true that these strains are commonly grown for charas in the mountainous north of the country. However, the most perfect examples of the dark, ultra-resinous Cannabis Indica genotype are actually found hundreds of kilometres to the northwest, in the mountains of Afghanistan.
Dedicated students of Indica bloodlines often refer to these varieties as ‘Afghanica’ when speaking of their favourites and as ‘hash plants’ when talking generally of the strains found across India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Many Indica-heads prefer their ganja without a trace of Sativa or Skunk, while some purists will only consume weed or hash that they know to be 100% Cannabis Indica
In years past, the most determined Indica-lovers have journeyed all the way to Pakistan, then across the Afghan border into ‘hashish country’ — the high reaches of the Hindu Kush between Chitral, Mazar-i-Sharif, down to Kandahar in the south — in search of pure, unaltered local seeds which might be brought home to grow into the Afghanica of their dreams.
A more reliable and cost-effective option is simply to obtain a packet of Sensi‘s Afghani #1. The very best parents from our unparalleled range of Afghani cultivars have been distilled into a single seed variety that gives growers textbook examples of the Afghanica genotype every time.
Anyone looking for a compact, fast easy-growing indoor strain capable of copious yields and almost-frightening resin production need look no further. Whether growers want uniform crops from seed or outstanding pure Indica mother plants to fill their flowering space with dynamic dark green clones, Afghani #1 has it covered.
Even first-timers find it hard not to succeed with this strain, and growers who bring out the full potential of Afghani #1 rank her among the finest original Indicas to be found anywhere.
