The Nordic Mind Conference is sort of a gathering of the tribe. A meeting
point for people interested in the potentials of psychedelics and other mind
expanding tools and techniques. The gathering has many different
objectives.
The main objectives are
 To create a meeting point in time and space for people interested in t
the subject where we can discuss experiences, listen to interesting lectures
and part take in workshops.
 Lay a first brick in a Nordic Network, by which form we can work
together to for example publish or translate literature, arrange lectures
with a bit more costly international lecturers or anyting we want
 Offer an opportunity for a comparison between the situations in the
different Nordic countries.
 Just have fun together with people we have things in common with.

We, the organizers are working on a non profit basis and this is our first
meeting also involving people from other countries. Therefore we hope
that it will mostly be seen as a fun and interesting cultural exchange
opportunity. We all have to start somewhere and we feel that it’s right
about time we get started.


The meeting will be held in Jönköping, Sweden
July 8 – 10 this summer.

Anyone that is interested is welcome.

To attend will cost 5.00 EUR.
(Which is of the same value as 30 FIM, 10 NLG, 40 NOK, 35 DKK or 45 SEK.)
This will cover vegetarian food and a roof over your head.
Anyone holding lectures or workshops will be free of any charge.
The admission will also, if you so wish, make you a member of the Nordic
Mind Network and in this give you influence over future projects.

For people who because of travelling technicalities or other reasons wish to
come early or stay late, the sleeping quarters will be open from July 7 and
will be available until July 11.

The gathering will have psychedelics and it’s potentials as a main core, but
we will also have people with other related areas, such as Yoga, Shamanic
drumming etc. as their main tool. The most important policy we have and
expect you all to honour is that no one may openly condemn anyone else’s
path.

Background
People active in Internet based discussion forums and
other parts of the Swedish psychedelic movement, have
especially during the year of 2004 seen an increase of
organization, and interest of physical gatherings.

Minor gatherings have been arranged by various forum
members in several locations in Sweden. These have
proven to be excellent opportunities for discussion and
exchange of experiences and thoughts with others who
have an interest in psychedelics, and related subjects. Such
gatherings have been hosted by individual members at
their homes, as well as out in the open, and the feedback
from the participants has been very positive.

Being able to talk openly to people from across the
country as well as the local area, about our common
interest, has been very edifying and inspiriting. This has
lead to considering arranging an international summit,
inviting like-minded organizations and persons from
across the Nordic countries, to be held in the same spirit
as our previous gatherings. This has now grown to a point
where it is being actualised.
We see this as an interesting opportunity to gather
individuals from the Nordic countries with this particular
interest, to discover what we have in common, and what
our cultural differences are.

This conference is arranged by an entirely independent
organization team in Jönköping, that should not be
mistaken for any web based forum or staff thereof, acting
in its name. We are the Nordic Mind 2005 Crew, nothing
else.

We have been working to reduce the costs for the
participants as much as possible. Currently, we will only
be charging a small admittance fee to cover the costs for
food being served.

Part one: Lectures
• Speaker: Ursa will talk of the potential of psychedelics, the
different ways of use and the psychedelic culture at large.
• Speaker: Sri Gaurangas errand boys will speak of Vedic
wisdom and the Indic philosophy of life and living.
• Speaker: Danny Gomez, the flash movie guru, among many
other things, behind the movie Flashback will talk about visionary
art and how he sees psychedelic experiences and its implementations

• Speaker: Psykedeliska, will hold a 1.5h workshop on
Yoga-breathing, one with Freeing Daning & Divine Communication, and
e lecture on Grof's LSD-experiments och his theories.
• Speaker: nikotin will hold a long lecture on
Wittgenstein and his impact on philosophy and thinking as we know it.
• Speaker: Mediet, our very own chemistry scholar,
known from TV, will talk about the true risks about RC's and then anything
he wishes to shed light on.

( We do not feel that we can say anything about the other lecturers without doubt )

We are currently also having discussions with a couple of other
lecturers regarding wether they will be speaking, we will have
to see about that.

Part two: Workshops

Part three: Activities
• Siberia Slideshow
We will with projector show movies like Hofmann's Potion,
Psychoactivity, Liquid Crystal Vision, Last Hippie Standing,
with others. A list with all our movies will be posted and
showed after democratic choice.


• Vegetarian Vedic Delights, Discussion and Music
Bhakti Yogis will prepare food, while people can socialize and
initiate deeper discussions with each other. Audio equipment
for playing music will also be available for use, given that it is
in the general interest of the participants, and that the music is
varied.



Part four: Follow-up
We will compile the information brought forth by the meeting
into a material, which will be published on the website or in the
form of a magazine, distributed by the Nordic Mind Network. This
so that the people that did not make it to the gathering also will
be able to take part of the things being said. We will also discuss
the possibilities for future cooperation, an Internet portal being
the initial suggestion. The adress NordicMind.net is allready ours.
Also, we will decide whether another international conference
should be held within the near future, and if we should try gather
some international speakers.

Food & accommodation
• Food will be taken care of by Bahkti Yogis from Jönköping.
If you are allergic against anything or are on a any special diet, tell us.
• We have rented a building with a large kitchen and large
rooms with possibilities to use as sleeping quarters using
sleeping bags and such. Pillows recomended.
• The building we have rented for food and accommodation
also provides showers for all to use.
• There are nearby hotels and inns where those who do not
want to sleep in the regular sleeping quarters can spend the night.
• The conference will be held at a separate conference facility.

Rules and obligations
Drug policy.

The use of drugs at the summit will not be tolerated, whether
they are legal or not (coffee and tobacco excluded). This is to
prevent any intervention from the authorities, should they
decide to show up. This could be negative both for the other
individual participants, and the continued existence and
development of the arranging group.

Remember:
"LSD is a psychedelic substance that
occasionally produces psychotic behavior
in people that have not taken it."

Anonymity.

We also recommend that you do not bring any kind of ID to the
conference or the homes of the organizers. We will instead
provide safe storage of your ID and/or driver's license, etc. This
is because no one individual should be able to be identified by
the authorities, ending up in their registers.
Note! We have never, during any of the previous gatherings,
had problems with the authorities, or them showing up at all.
These are merely preventive measures.

station named Jönköpingsvägen. Go back over the bridge that you just
passed and turn left up the hill. Look for big red letters "Folkets Park".

Kommer ni med tåg från Göteborg/Nässjö så stannar tåget vid hållplats
Huskvarna som ligger precis vid Folkets Park. Se karta.

If you come with train from Gothenburg/Nässjö the train stops at the
station Huskvarna, just by The Peoples Park. See map.
